Robert L. Harrison has been a lawyer for more than 30 years and is AV® PreeminentTM-rated. His practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration and real estate law.
Mr. Harrison has been a Certified Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law Specialist, State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, since 1992, the first year that designation was awarded, and his estate planning practice includes the drafting of trusts and wills and related tax planning, and the administration of trusts and estates. His real estate practice focuses on leases and purchase and sale agreements, and related financing and title work.
Mr. Harrison is a frequent speaker on estate planning and real estate law topics, and has served as a moderator and lecturer at events sponsored by Continuing Education of the Bar of California (CEB), the Marin County Bar Association, Mentor Legal Drafting Courses and the Marin Community Foundation. He was a contributing author of Complete Plans for Small and Mid-Sized Estates, published by CEB in 2006 and updated annually thereafter, and of the Estate Planning Module of California Transaction Forms, published by West Group in October 1999. Mr. Harrison also served as legal consultant for Estates: Planning Ahead, published by the Cancer Prevention Institute of California (formerly Northern California Cancer Center) as a guide to estate planning issues faced by individuals and families touched by cancer and which is currently in its eighth edition.
For the past eight years, Mr. Harrison has been a member of the Board of Directors of Community Action Marin, a private non-profit social service agency serving low-income residents of Marin County, and he currently is the chair of its Development Committee and Audit Committee. He previously served as president of the Marin Unit of the American Cancer Society. He is also active in providing pro-bono legal services to seniors through Legal Aid of Marin.
