    Robert L. Harrison was a 2017 recipient of the State Bar’s Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services.  The award honors legal professionals who provide at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services during the preceding 12 months.  Justice Wiley W. Manuel was the first African-American Justice of the California Supreme Court, serving from 1977-1981, following 23 years with the Attorney General’s office.  In his legal career and personal life, Justice Manuel was an exemplar of public service dedicated to equal justice under the law.
